Welcome ~ I am So Glad You're Here!

My name is Courtney, and I love listening, caring, and ministering to hearts that are hurting. Nothing brings me more joy than to come alongside a person or couple and help them discover wholeness and healing. We all go through seasons where we need help making sense of our lives. It would be my highest honor to walk with you through life’s discouragements and the times where you find yourself lost and confused. I am committed to bringing you my best, as we journey together to figure out the way forward.

Meet Courtney Holbrook

My greatest treasure is my family. When I am not reading, studying, or preparing for clients I am spending time with my husband and four children. I can say that I am happily married and truly fulfilled in my role as a wife and mother. However, the first ten years of our marriage were difficult and I did not have the skills to connect deeply with my husband. It wasn’t until we sought out professional help that I was able to find my voice and connect deeper emotionally.

Prior to my work as a counselor, I was a college minister stateside and abroad in Asia.  Stateside I worked with Student Mobilization, at the University of Mississippi, and the University of Arkansas. Working on the college campus for over two decades, state-side and abroad exposed me to a wide range of ethnicities and cultural diversity.  Moreover, living abroad gave me a deep appreciation for other cultures and people.

However, a common occurrence transitioning cultures and living overseas lends itself to vulnerable adversities. For starters, it was not easy transitioning into another language, and culture.  Also, leaving my home and friends was quite difficult, where I experienced seasons of utter isolation. After eight long years of living in these conditions I had an emotional breaking point.  Soon after, I received the loving care from professional counselors, and I began to heal and make sense of my life.  Simultaneously, my husband and I received marriage and family therapy that changed our marriage forever from emotionally disconnected to deeply connected.

After receiving professional counseling in 2013, my life and marriage had a renewed sense of hope, coupled with a deep understanding and love for myself and my spouse. This newly discovered hope anchored us and guided us through lifes storms that would shortly follow in the days, weeks, and years ahead. A few years later I birthed our fourth child who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Our son's diagnosis was traumatic for me, and took months to process.  This was another time in my life where I found myself clinging to God for help, and in the caring environment of a loving, professional counselor. The professional counseling I received during that difficult transition, allowed myself to gain perspective and weather that storm not alone, but connected.

It is my hope that every individual and couple that steps inside my office would have the same powerful, transformational experience of renewed life and hope that I received.  I will do my best to provide you with a safe, caring, non-judgmental experience in order to help your life transform for the better.  If you find yourself in a mess, I am here to help.  If you find yourself confused and hopeless, I understand.  Call me today, so that you can begin a new chapter in life, filled with hope and renewed purpose.
